Bioethics: a philosophical discipline or simply practice?
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to raise some issues that relate to disciplinary status of bioethics. I am particularly interested inentering to consider here its relation to philosophy and the role it should play in different areas of research and medical practice. The question is whether bioethics can be understood and practiced as part of an action protocol or requires a philosophical foundation
that will provide strength and consistency.
