Debates on Prostitution. Reflections from Buenos Aires

Abstract

Once Democracy was again in power, the police Edicts were abolished and an intense discussion was held on the uses of public space in Buenos Aires (afterwards extended to the whole country). Besides the discussion on the delimitation of "red light areas", the most important debated issue was whether prostitution is a work or not. This article analyses the arguments held by both positions and supports its derogation.
