Mothering of the Society: Reproductive Rights and Primal Health
Abstract
The social value of motherhood, whose roots are intertwined with the slogan "the personal is political", is currently projected onto new greatly controversial scenarios. These scenarios clearly facilitate the direct involvement of a greater number of people in biological maternal matters. In this paper, some thoughts on the ethics of motherhood and scientific advances in the area of human reproduction are presented, which pose new challenges and opportunities from the perspective of feminism and, therefore, society. These thoughts have been originally based on the rights of sexual and reproductive health to finally expose potential tools of social motherhood, whose premise is the woman choice. Such kind of mothering concept is developed in two aspects; one concerning the babies health, and the other based on the embodiment of motherhood rights.Downloads
