Networked Social Movements as Political Heuristic to Rethink Contemporary Political Philosophy in the Context of a Globalizing World
Abstract
The complexity of political phenomena has grown in a globalizing world and we face novel challenges in the field of political philosophy. Do the theories of justice that we inherited have the necessary elements to think that complexity or we will require new concepts? This paper gives a negative answer to the first part of the question and a positive answer to the second; I will begin by briefly describing the scenario of globalization; then I will describe the distinctive notes of social movements network and, from these, I will establish that normative assumptions of theories of justice does not help us to think the complexity of our times and finally I argue in favor of the idea of the diversity of identities that, as part of a heuristic policy, we permit a broad look at the challenges facing justice in a globalizing world.Downloads
