Abstract

This article intends to explain some basic problems and the methodology of the new topic of argumentation in digital realms. Firstly, we classified the different digital media and then focus on Twitter as case study. We compare the pure manual or expert data analysis to automatic or semi-automatic study. We inform, without technical detail, about tools available to the design of codes for the debate analysis in Twitter. Finally, we show the way to identify argumentation in a realm as Twitter that is not explicitly aimed to promoting discussion.
