Application of the Deliberative Process in Ethical Dilemmas: The Action of an Ethics Committee in a Clinical Case
Abstract
Advances in medical technology, coupled with the greater involvement of patients in decision-making regarding their treatment, give rise to a new context in which clinical practice is performed. In this new situation, conflicts can arise through the different scales of values of the toilets, patients and even their families. In this regard, the existence of the Ethics Committees for Health Care as a multidisciplinary, plural and independent group seems to be necessary as a forum for deliberation in complex situations for which there is usually no apodictic response, but conflicts can be clarified and non-binding character, ways of solution without attempting to replace the consciences of those directly involved.Downloads
