Why not Talking about the Suffering Added or Inflicted in the Clinical Practice?
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore the phenomenon of suffering inflicted in clinical practice. A literature review was been carried out in different humanistic and health sciences databases. The results highlight the theoretical frameworks that explain the phenomenon of suffering and the main sources, from the clinical context, which add suffering to patients and their families, unresolved physical or judgmental pain, inadequate information and communication, waiting times and dehumanization because of the poor therapeutic relationship. Conclusions: It is important to study how the policies of health organizations condition the suffering of people during hospitalization, in order to try to make this source of vulnerability and inequality visible and to try to correct it.Downloads
