Reproductive Autonomy and Late Maternity: a Bioethical Reflection
Abstract
Based on the qualitative analysis and the current paradigm of reproduction and maternity, this article analyzes the exercise of reproductive autonomy under the cultural and development framework founded on the liberalism of Stuart Mill and continued by John Harris, critically analyzes its consequences for bioethics. The central idea of the article tries to establish that a genuine exercise of reproductive autonomy must be fulfilled by diverse ethical conditions and of social justice and cannot be only an individual decision.
