On the Position of the Teacher with Respect to the School and the Pupil. Social or Individualistic Education?
Keywords:
school reform, individuality, social typeAbstract
It is argued in this essay that the teacher must treat the pupil as an individuality rather than as a social type. Only in case that a pupil has to learn how to behave socially, can the teacher (in that he is a representative of the school) treat that pupil as a social type. As for the school reform, which demands education to be close to life, teacher and pupil must build a working community, whose members are all to be considered as social types by the school as a social institution.
