Assisted by the Electronic Sovereign.Utopias and Dystopias of Artificial Intelligence
Abstract
This paper tries to understand Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the model for super-prosthesis and assistance utopia. For that we review two confronted stands: the utopian vision to develop IA till the end and the dystopian attitude that would imply to achieve that goal. At the present moment and in the middle of a technological change, both attitudes are sterile and wrong to cope with that problem. Technological utopianism seems to create more problems than solve them. Politics and social organization must transform a new scenario where automatization would take part of a basic income right, for instance. It is required to find a balance on that antagonism and try to place assistant technology circumscribed to some domains. Some human activities should remain carried out by humans due to their moral element such as care.
